Flower Power

flower power

Since spring is officially here, I only thought it would be proper to feature a bright and flowery outfit. Daisies are such a happy flower, and while the print is bold, it's very wearable considering it's basically all neutrals. White pants are a total summer staple and ultra crisp. The simple tote keeps it casual while the green drivers add a fresh pop of color.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
XOXO,
Kate

Jackie O. Style, Part Two: Pearls

Hi ya'll, how have you been? This second installment of "Jackie O. Style" focuses on probably the most identifiable jewelry piece Jackie O. ever wore. What could I be talking about? Why, her signature pearls, of course! Throughout the years Jackie wore pearls on many  different occasions. Their simple elegance worked perfectly with her polished and feminine taste and are really a great staple for all girls to have in their wardrobe.

Hope you all have a lovely week! Are you guys as excited for spring as I am?

XOXO,
Kate

Pleated Skirts and Pink

When I first saw this Juicy Couture skirt, I thought it was total perfection. I tend to like the clothing Juicy Couture puts out, and their recent Spring/Summer collection is no exception. Skirts with multiple pleats have been very in recently, and navy blue is a great neutral to add to one's wardrobe. The touch of pink makes it special and adds just the right amount of interest. I decided to pair the skirt with a classic boat neck tee and beautiful patent loafers (I actually just bought this exact pair in leopard print). The Jimmy Choo bag is ultra luxe and a great investment piece. As for the scarf, this simple solid pink one is a great deal and spices up the outfit just so. Plus, my favorite color is pink, and any way to work that into the look even more is great for me.

Happy Ides of March!
XOXO,
Kate

P.S. I have a confession to make: I'm a total Directioner - as in, major fan of One Direction. If you're not acquainted with the latest, greatest boy band from across the pond, I recommend you get to know them a little better by viewing their video for their song "What Makes You Beautiful" - so fun!

P.P.S. This does have something to do with styling, mind you - theirs is perfect.

Springtime Colors

Springtime Colors

Rag & Bone jacket, $120
Maison Scotch pants, $110
PeepToe shoes, $160
Dooney & Bourke Satchel, $278

Now that spring is in the air, I decided to feature an outfit with touches of poppy colors that really liven it up. All of these pieces are gorgeous - the chinos, blazer, and bag are great wardrobe staples, and the gingham top has a bit of a retro feel while the pumps are a fabulous statement piece. Which colors will you be sporting this spring?

XOXO,
Kate

Jackie O. Style, Part One: Sunnies

Hi all! Today I'll begin a series based on the style of one of the most iconic figures of the 20th century: Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Her classic style transcends all generations and has personally inspired me very much. Throughout this series I'll be highlighting certain fixtures in Jackie O.'s wardrobe and giving you all modern-day examples of those very essentials. Today's pick: those classic Jackie O. sunglasses. Jacqueline was constantly spotted wearing her stylish, oversize sunnies. Not only do they up the glam factor of any look, they also protect your eyes and the skin around them from the sun. Below, a few of my very favorite renditions of these classics:

Jackie O. Style: Sunnies

Middle Row: Karen Walker (really like these - Karen Walker is so "it" right now), Target, Oliver Peoples
Bottom Row: Kate Spade (to me, the ultimate Jackie O.'s),  TopshopRay-Ban

Hope you guys have a fabulous week!
XOXO,
Kate

Black and White, Bows and Stripes

Bows and Stripes, Black and White
Tommy Hilfiger shirt
Preen skirt
Prada heels

Another look featuring black and white, this outfit experiments with playful, girly shapes. The sedated color palette keeps the girly touches from becoming too over the top (and take it from a girly girl like me - it's possible). Overall, this ensemble proves to be sophisticated, youthful, and glam.

Have a great weekend!
XOXO,
Kate

Minty Fresh

Minty

Now that spring is about to kick into full swing, I'm more ready than ever to break out the pastels. I paired a simple black skirt and pointy-toe heels (so pretty) with this stunning Juicy Couture blazer. I recently bought myself a similar one from JC Penney by their Olsenboye brand, which is headed up by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. Honestly, I was amazed that a $20-ish blazer (I know, such a deal!) could make me feel as chic/fabulous/amazing as I did while wearing it. Since then I am convinced a striped black and white blazer is a staple - it goes perfectly with so many things! I placed a simple yellow polo underneath it and finished off the look with a mint green clutch. Remember this post where I said mint is a major trend? Well, I know that was a full two weeks ago, but it's still totally true. The best part about this clutch is how affordable and easy to work into an outfit it is - ideal characteristics for a trendy piece. Anywho, I think the stripes plus yellow plus mint plus pointy toe heels equals one fantabulous outfit.

Have a lovely week, everyone!

XOXO,
Kate

Brown and Blue, Classic and Cute

brown and blue

Today's look is a simple, cute, and conservative. I enjoy wearing skirts very much, and I like the femininity this skirt plus the ruffled top give to the classic schoolboy-style blazer. The bag is from Coach classics, which is is a practically perfect collection - such good investments! - and the shoes are Minnetonka moccasins, an interesting alternative to the standard penny loafers one might expect with "preppy" looks such as this one. I really like this look - as the title says, it's classic and cute!

Have a happy Friday - and happy March, everyone!

XOXO,
Kate

P.S. I've decided to from now on place an encouraging Bible verse beneath my signature on every post - hope it blesses you guys! Below is my first:
